Plans and Prices
The first step in building a Haven TimberHome is to select your design. You can choose from one of our floorplans; or you can send us a floorplan that you like and we’ll suggest how the Haven TimberHome system can be applied to it. Haven TimberHomes can be built on a variety of foundations – we recommend engaging a geotechnical engineering consultant to investigate soils as necessary and advise how to prepare the base and build appropriate foundations.
We engineer our designs for the extreme conditions of the winter mountains of the Far Northwest – heavy snowloads, strong winds, and seismic risk. (Our designs are named for places in this rugged region too.) You can use any of our designs “off the shelf” – but you can also modify them to suit your particular needs. An engineer or a good general contractor from your area can determine if there are special local issues to consider. Haven TimberHomes designs are engineer-stamped and can be readily used with local building authorities. Our high rating by the Alaska Building Energy Efficiency System (approved for all climate zones in Alaska) assures local and regional authorities of the excellent thermal performance of Haven TimberHome designs.

Construction options: Authorized builder or do-it-yourself?
Ask for a full turnkey quote from Haven TimberHomes. In most areas our building division will be pleased to build your home or cottage. In other areas we can suggest an authorized builder experienced in the Haven TimberHome system.
Our homes can be easily assembled by competent owner-builders. If you are building it yourself, we provide a detailed assembly manual with each shipment. Before your order arrives, you will know if you need any tools you might not ordinarily have, and you will have a list of necessary supplies. With our short-timber system, the delivery will not take up much of your job site and once the truck is unloaded, you will not have to schedule any heavy equipment for building.
A two-person crew is all that is needed to put up a Haven TimberHome, although a four-person crew makes assembly easier and faster. The assembly manual explains how to attach to your foundations, how to string electrical circuits, and how to install doors and windows. After your walls are up, you need only to build your roof, and apply finishing and caulk and you can be closed-to-weather.
From arrival to finish, Haven TimberHomes go up quickly and securely.
